Like everything else related to
the practice of law, the cost of legal research
has risen with the years. A sole practitioner
may not always be able to reconcile his or her
research requirements, or even just the need to
keep up with legal developments, with the high
cost of accessing the law in the "traditional"
ways.
While the subscription-based
electronic case law providers offer many bells
and whistles with which, they say, your life is
easier; it is possible in many cases to obtain
the same information either free or at a
fraction of the cost.
